Anna Torino

Anna was born on October 7, 1927 to Dominic and Carmelaa (Dell’ Aquila) Angiello in the Bronx, NY. She was fortunate to meet the love of her life, Joseph Torino and they married on April 26, 1952 in Bronx, NY. They were blessed with three extraordinary children Joanne, Joseph and Mary.

Anna worked as the Mail Room Supervisor at A.I.C.P.A. in the Bronx until she retired. She was incredibly proud of her Italian heritage and she instilled that same pride to her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren as well. Family was the utmost important thing to Anna and she devoted her life to them. Her family brought her never-ending joy and a vast amount of pride. Cooking was one of Anna’s passions and she loved to show her family and friends how much she loved them by preparing all the old Italian specialties handed down to her from her mother and grandmother. At a moment’s notice she would gladly set an extra plate at the table for family and friends. She welcomed our friends and made them feel like a family member. She was well known for making her infamous pizza Anna’s pizza was loved and requested by all of her family and friends. She loved teaching her family to cook her favorite food, but we couldn’t make pizza like Anna’s.

Her favorite holiday was Christmas, when all of the family gathered at her home to celebrate. Anna was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed arts and crafts, especially ceramics. Her faith in God was very important to her and she was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac for more than 27 years.

Anna is survived by her devoted children, daughter Joanne and son-in_law Michael Ferro of West Babylon, NY, son Joseph Torino of Mahopac, NY and her daughter Mary and son-in-law Bob Daniele of New Fairfield, CT. She is survived by her Seven treasured grandchildren Thomas, Marlana, Michelle, Robert, Anthony, Gina, and Stephanie. Her five adored great-grandchildren Kayla, Tyson, Kyra, Anna, and Robert.all of whom held a special place in her heart and brought her an infinite amount of joy. She leaves behind a brother, Gabriel Angiello of Scarsdale, NY. Anna is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Torino who passed away in 2006, a angel-Great-Grandson Ryan and by six siblings, Joseph Angiello, Magnifica Reina, Mary Goldstein, Assuata Slowey, Ferdinand Angiello and Concetta Torino.

Anna will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM at the Cargain Funeral Homes Inc., 418 Route 6 (GPS US 6), Mahopac, New York 10541. (845)628-5655

A Mass of Christian burial will be held the same day at 11:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 221 East Lake Boulevard, Mahopac, New York. Following the mass, Anna will be brought to her final resting place beside Joseph at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel, New York.
