Yvette Bernice Belliveau, of Carmel, NY, died on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Danbury Regional Hospital with her son by her side.
She was born May 12, 1932 in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada to the late Albenie and the late Lina (Cormier) Belliveau. She grew up in a big family with 11 brothers and sisters. In 1967, she was married to Hilmar Brumme. Soon after, they moved to the United States and made a life together, eventually ending up in Mahopac NY, where they lived for over 40 years.
For 88 years, she brought an amazing amount of joy and laughter to her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, music, and cooking, and she LOVED seafood!
She will be dearly missed by her son Peter and daughter Heidi, grandson’s Ian and Jackson, sisters Yolande Goguen (Yvon) and Fernande Grant (Don), as well as many, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Hilmar (2020), sisters Irma, Viola, Lauda, Maria, and Gloria, and by her brothers Ulysse, Roger, Bernard and Raymond.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Cargain Funeral Homes, Inc., 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY 10512.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Yvette’s life will take place following the visitation at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, April 17, 2021, at St. James the Apostle Church, 14 Gleneida Ave., Carmel, NY 10512. Following the Mass, Yvette will be brought to her final resting place with her husband, Hilmar (2020), at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel, NY.
