Wayne Bogart

Sadly, Wayne Robert Bogart of Carmel, NY died on February 6, 2023 at the age of 66 from complications due to cancer.

Wayne was born on October 1, 1956 in White Plains, NY to Robert and Marlene (Herow) Bogart. After graduating from White Plains High School, Wayne joined the Marines and served honorably as a Corporal from 1975 through 1978. He was an officer in the White Plains Police Department until he retired in 1989. He was also a member of the Bristol Police Society.

He married his beloved wife, Erica Ziegler on June 7, 2002 in Seymour, CT and they were blessed with two wonderful children.

Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and an active member of the Kent Gun Club. He enjoyed an annual hunting trip with long-time friends to Quincy, Illinois. He also enjoyed fishing, both deep sea and fresh water, with family and friends. Wayne was very active person and a fervent Rugby player. He played for the White Plains Rugby Club and remained a member throughout his life. He loved animals and volunteered as a puppy socializer for Guiding Eyes for the Blind.

He leaves his beloved wife Erica (Ziegler) Bogart and children Christopher and Samantha. Wayne was predeceased by his father Robert Bogart in 2012. He is survived by his mother Marlene (Herow) Bogart, brothers Scott and Lance, sisters Lori, Donna and Tracey, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cargain Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 at St. James the Apostle Church, 14 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, NY.

Following the Mass, Wayne will be escorted to his final resting place at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel, NY and there will be a Marine Honor Guard ceremony.
