It is with sadness we announce the passing of Madelyn L. Novak, age 72 of Carmel, NY on May 10, 2022.
Madelyn was born on September 12, 1949 in New York City to William and Lydia (Balala) Havlik. She married the love of her life, James Novak.
After many years of working for the regional manager at NYSEG, she worked in Stamford, CT, in the re-insurance industry before retiring to become a homemaker and enjoy time with her husband Jim. Family was the most important thing to her. She loved flowers and gardening. She was fascinated by astronomy, how the universe works, and enjoyed delving into interesting conversations on just about any topic. She was an animal lover but she had a special affinity for dogs, elephants and pigs.
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Sadly, Madelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Novak, who passed away in 2020.
Madelyn is survived by her children, Jennifer Parrish and Karen Schwartz, her grandchildren Kaila, ToniAnn, Tori, and Joshua, as well as her great grandchild, Bentley. She is predeceased by her sister Olivia Papio (2020) and her eldest grandson, Jeffrey (2015).
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Cargain Funeral Home, 10 Fowler Avenue, Carmel, NY 10512.
A Funeral Service and Blessing to honor and celebrate Madelyn’s life will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Cargain Funeral Home. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.
Immediately following the service, Madelyn will be escorted to her final resting place for burial alongside her husband James at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel, NY.
