It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing for Jade Wu, 71, of Patterson, NY on January 29, 2023.
Jade was born on February 16, 1951 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan to Ding Mo and Liang Hua (Xie) Chang-Chen. She graduated from Hengchun High School in Taiwan, and later met and married her soul mate and best friend, Arthur Wu, on September 6, 1975 in Taiwan. They had two wonderful children and moved to the United States in October 20, 1983.
Jade worked at many jobs with most of those years at Guidepost in Carmel, NY and then as a Machine Operator for Schatz Bearing Corporation in Poughkeepsie, NY. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose family was the most important thing to her. She loved spending time with her family and she especially loved playing games with her cherished grandchildren. She was an amazing cook and she loved cooking for family and friends. She was full of life and energy and was always on the go. She was a member of the Mid Hudson Taiwanese Society and she loved cooking for them as well. She loved the outdoors and was an amazing gardener. She was also a huge animal lover and they instinctively knew this and were drawn to her.
Jade is predeceased by her dear mother, Liang Hua, who passed away in 1985. She is survived by her dear father, Ding Mo, her beloved husband, Arthur, and her dearly loved children, William and his wife Debbie Yang, and Michael and his wife Wei Shan Chao. Her three treasured grandchildren, Faith, Ava and Wisty and her four siblings, Wei Ming Chang-Chien, Xiu Cheng Kuo, Xiu Zhu Wang and Xiu Yen Chang-Chien survive her as well.
She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
A Graveside Ceremony to honor and celebrate Jade’s life will be held at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Raymond Hill Cemetery in Carmel, NY.
