It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Ann-Marie Bury, age 72, of Mahopac, NY on April 8, 2022.
Ann-Marie was born on June 20, 1949 in Yonkers, New York to John and Bertha (Bodenski) Boryszewski. Ann-Marie married her husband, Alan Bury, on September 23, 1978 in Yonkers, New York, sharing a love for the outdoors, adventuring, marine life, art, movies, and patriotism.
Ann-Marie attended Alliance College (Class of ‘72), graduating with a Bachelor of Science. While there, she was a sister of the Psi Kappa Rho sorority. Upon graduation she worked for the public sector, keeping the citizens of southern New York safe for over 30 years. She retired as Chief Environmental Bacteriologist of Westchester County. Ann-Marie was a nationally recognized expert in environmental science matters, especially in water and wastewater quality, speaking at renowned conferences.
A devoted wife, aunt, and friend, she was a loyal parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church. An avid nature lover, photographer, talented artist, and jewelry and gem enthusiast, Ann-Marie’s hobbies brought beauty and happiness to her family and friends. She respected and loved all animals, whether they were her own pets or animals in the wild. Ann-Marie was known for her heart of gold, as her generosity knew no boundaries – she always donated to a variety of charities and was kind to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
Ann-Marie is survived by her beloved husband of forty-three years, Alan Bury, her sisters, Cathy Bednarczyk and Christine Wesser, as well as her loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Church, 95 Plum Brook Rd, Somers, NY 10589.
Following Mass, Ann-Marie will be escorted to her final resting place at Raymond Hill Cemetery, Carmel, NY.
